Increasingly popular, acoustic absorbers made their appearance in professional spaces a few years ago. Acoustic panels can be found in restaurants, reception halls or, more regularly, in offices, and are designed to reduce noise pollution. Used in most cases in noisy spaces, it attenuates, corrects or absorbs polluting sounds. A real lever for improving quality of life at work.

    SOUND ABSORBER
    For employee comfort

Acoustic products find their place in contemporary workspaces. With a variety of uses, installation and design options, it’s now the darling of companies looking to improve their acoustic comfort.

Too much echo in your professional spaces?
For your employees, patients and other collaborators, acoustic treatment should be considered.

    WALL-MOUNTED SOUND ABSORBER

A wall-mounted noise absorber generally consists of :

    • Absorbent foam
    • Plain or printed fabric covering

The combination of these two elements creates a product that is both acoustic and decorative. The level of acoustic efficiency will then depend on the type and density of foam used.

At myO, we guarantee an aw de 1 correction with acoustic panels.

A high-performance level that delivers real efficiency in the spaces we treat.

The fabric coating applied to the panel not only enhances the acoustic efficiency of our products, but also, and above all, decorates them.

3 coverings are available from myO: Soul, TWIST and TWIST MELANGE fabrics.

    SOUND ABSORBER
    CEILING

A ceiling sound absorber has the same characteristics as a wall sound absorber.

However, it will protect your ceilings, not your walls, from sound reverberation.

In fact, acoustic ceiling panels are recommended for environments with high cathedral ceilings, concrete ceilings or simply when the walls cannot accommodate decorative furniture.

The absorber can be suspended to reduce the echo created by conversations, phone calls, general hubbub…

    What about absorber coatings?

Each fabric offers a different aesthetic.

Please refer to our “Finishes” page to find out more. Choose from HUSH, TWIST or TWIST MELANGE fabrics for a single- or two-tone panel, or the LUGN print to create an acoustic panel unique to your image. Photos, images, logos, everything can be printed.

    ACOUSTIC CORRECTION VS. ACOUSTIC INSULATION

    What do I need?

In acoustics, there are two distinct fields:

    • Acoustic correction: sound quality within a single room
    • Acoustic insulation: sound transmission through a partition or floor between two rooms

It’s important to note that the noise-absorbing panel treats the reverberation of sound within a single room, not between several rooms.

    Acoustic correction
for what kind of noise pollution?

Noise absorbers are used when the sound resonance of a room is too strong: noise, voices, ringing bells, etc. This is called acoustic correction.

They provide effective noise absorption without the need for major works or modifications to your premises.
Whether suspended from the ceiling, mounted on the wall or used as a room divider, acoustic panels can be adapted to any situation to improve your daily life.

“Here, the sound reverberated off the windows, and the room was in danger of becoming a big mess. So we drew up a layout plan to position the Lugn acoustic panels judiciously. Now, wherever sound is emitted from, it is inevitably absorbed by an acoustic panel before reaching a glass surface, thus considerably attenuating ambient noise. It’s beautiful, and our employees feel very much at home here.”

    ACOUSTIC REVERBERATION UPDATE

It’s essential to treat room acoustics to avoid these daily problems, for everyone’s well-being.

    THE CAUSES

This may be due to the materials used in the building’s construction – glass, concrete or metal – or simply because the decoration is too plain.

    CONSEQUENCES

Sound reverberation often results in an unpleasant sensation of background noise, when different noises or voices intermingle. The result is a loss of intelligibility, mental fatigue and lack of concentration.

    Did you know?

A sound wave is multidirectional. In other words, it spreads throughout the room as it meets the elements that make it up. The wave collides with whatever it encounters: walls, ceilings, furniture and people… As it encounters these, part of the wave passes through the object and continues on its way, another part bounces back and the last part is absorbed. The role of acoustic panels and objects is therefore to intensify the absorption of waves that collide with them, reducing their intensity and reverberation.

How do you install a noise absorber?

Depending on the configuration of your room, 2 surfaces can be treated with soundproofing panels:

    The walls

Acoustic wall panels are the most popular choice for treating sound reverberation. The panel can be used to decorate walls, just like a traditional picture. Customized with a logo, an image or simply plain, it can be adapted to suit your brand’s design and communication needs.

A highly effective wall-mounted noise absorber for treating the acoustics of a room deemed too reverberant.

    The ceiling

In some rooms, the reverberation of sound is due to the configuration of the ceilings, not the walls. In this case, we recommend the use of sound-absorbing ceiling panels, perfectly suited to different situations: cathedral ceilings, bare loft ceilings, metal ceilings… The sound-absorbing panel acts as a sound barrier, limiting reverberation thanks to its composition of absorbent foam. It is simply attached to the panel using steel cables.

    Room divider

Sound-absorbing panels can be used to enhance structure spaces . You can hang acoustic panels vertically from the ceiling to create or delimit zones and provide effective acoustic correction.

For unrestricted use of acoustic solutions, we recommend acoustic partitions or totems, which can be placed directly on the floor without any hanging constraints.

Why do panels have to be installed by a professional?

Efficiently correcting noise in a professional space cannot be achieved without an acoustic study.

A diagnosis must be carried out in order to install the right number of panels for proper correction. Not only that, but it’s also important to place these panels in strategic locations where correction will be most effective.

Depending on the nature of the surface (tiles, concrete…) and the size of the room, the solutions may vary.

The diagnosis will specify the type of panels to be installed: suspended panels, wall panels, medium or XL size horizontal panels

    DECORATIVE SOUND ABSORBERS

    Acoustic, yes, but also decorative!

Acoustic panels can also give your rooms a new look. Customizable, they adapt to the spirit and colors of your company. Printed, plain or mottled, choose shape, size, color, with or without frame.add lightsfind the right arrangement wall-mounted, ceiling-mounted or pass-through…
